After more than 35 years designing and managing travel, meetings and events, I’ve learned that exceptional experiences don’t happen by accident. Experiencing Destinations Firsthand

I believe being a great travel advisor also means getting out there and experiencing it for myself.

I regularly participate in travel advisor familiarization trips to experience destinations and hotels firsthand. Even when traveling personally, I often go out of my way to visit properties where I’m not staying — because I want to understand the location, atmosphere and experience, and most importantly, who I would — or wouldn’t — recommend it to.

The same curiosity extends beyond the hotel to private touring, local cuisine, time on the water, wine, culture and the experiences that create a genuine connection to a destination.

That firsthand perspective gives me something research alone cannot — the judgment to help determine what is truly right for you.
